Dr. Matthew Lepowsky
Dr. Matthew Lepowsky graduated at the top of his class at the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Lepowsky has received numerous awards for clinical excellence, outstanding academic achievement, and leadership during his education and upon graduating. While in dental school, he was the recipient of the Edith and Morris, Jack and Phyllis Opinsky Award for Academic Excellence, and the UConn School of Dental Medicine Academic Achievement Award. At graduation, Dr. Lepowsky received the Academy
of General Dentistry Senior Student Award, the International College of Dentists Student Leadership Award, the Quintessence Award for Clinical Achievement in Restorative Dentistry, the American Student Dental Association Award of Excellence, and the Special Care Dentistry Association Student Award.
Dr. Lepowsky completed a General Practice Residency program at Danbury Hospital where he received advanced training and experience in all aspects of general dentistry and comprehensive care, including diagnosis and treatment planning, restorative and cosmetic dentistry, fixed and removable prosthodontics, oral surgery, periodontics, endodontics, pediatric dentistry, and the management of emergencies and trauma. This experience in conjunction with his education has ensured that Dr. Lepowsky is proficient in the planning, placement, and restoration of implants, complex oral rehabilitation, and computer assisted dentistry.
Dr Lepowsky remains active with professional organizations and the community. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the Connecticut State Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, and the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society. He has been an active volunteer with the Connecticut Special Olympics Healthy Athletes Special Smiles program and the Connecticut Mission of Mercy.
As a native of Simsbury, Connecticut, Dr. Lepowsky went to UConn for his undergraduate education, receiving his Bachelors in Biologic Sciences in three years as an Honors Scholar. In his free time, Dr. Lepowsky enjoys computer programming, cooking, and reality TV.
