Safety Protocols & Instructions For All Appointments
HOW WE ARE PREPARING FOR RETURN TO PRACTICE
The current COVID-19 pandemic has presented some real challenges to dental professionals worldwide. We have been hard at work establishing new protocols to help us serve you in the safest, most efficient manner possible. We obviously have had to cancel many appointments in the past few weeks and we hope you will be patient as we will be prioritizing patient needs as we return to work. You will notice some changes on how we will care for you in your upcoming dental appointments and we want to convey that information to you now.
A week before your appointment a staff member will be in touch to review a series of questions related to your potential exposure to the coronavirus. (You can preview these questions at the bottom of the page.)
Approximately 2 days PRIOR to your visit, we will be calling you to collect all anticipated co-pays for your appointment. This is being done as a safety measure to minimize personal contact and eliminate the need to stop at the front desk during your appointment.
When you arrive for your appointment, there will be new procedures in place. Please plan to arrive no more than 5 minutes prior to your appointment. We ask that you arrive with your own face mask (cloth masks are fine).
You will remain in your vehicle and call our front office at 860-871-2618 to let us know you have arrived. A staff member will again review the pre-screening questionnaire with you.
Once approved to enter the building, you will meet a member of our staff outside our office door where you will have your temperature checked with a touch-free thermometer. As long as your temperature is below 100 degrees, you will be escorted directly into your assigned room for your appointment.
Once your appointment is complete you will go directly back to your car. No waiting at the front desk will be required.
Within 2 business days, a member of our staff will call you to follow-up on any needed treatment planning or insurance questions and to schedule any other work that was diagnosed. While recall appointments can be scheduled during your pre-appointment phone call, they can also be scheduled during this post appointment conversation.
We ask that traffic into our office is limited to appointed patients only. We understand small children and some adults may need a single caretaker to escort them, but in most cases, we would appreciate any additional family members wait in the vehicle during the appointment.
These measures will remain in effect for at least the next 6 months or until further notice.
We appreciate your understanding during these most unusual times and welcome your feedback. YOUR safety is our main objective.
PRE- SCREENING APPOINTMENT QUESTIONNAIRE
- Have you tested positive for the corona virus?
If yes, how long have you been recovered?
- Have you been exposed to a person that has/has had the corona virus?
If yes when?
- Have you, or any member of your household, travelled outside of the continental United States or to the greater NY/NJ area in the past 3 weeks?
- Have you had a fever in the last 3 weeks?
- Have you had lower back pain and or problems with urination in the last 3 weeks?
- Have you experienced any diarrhea/stomach upset in the last 3 weeks?
- Have you had any loss of taste or smell in the last 3 weeks?
- Have you suffered from headaches in the last 3 weeks?
- Have you had a cough or shortness of breath in the last 3 weeks?
If you answer yes to any of these questions, we request you consult your primary care physician for testing for COVID- 19 prior to having your dental needs treated. Thank you for your understanding. Safety is our top priority.
Please be advised that as of 6/8/2020, will begin seeing patients for routine dental hygiene visits. New protocols will limit the number of patients we can accommodate on a given day, so some appointments will still need to be rescheduled, or have time slots shifted to some degree. Our staff will be reaching out to you to discuss any anticipated changes to previously scheduled appointments. Your patience is appreciated as we sort out these final details.
